ARTS ACHIEVE! MODEL SCHOOLS: Information & Application
Arts Achieve!
Schools offer exemplary arts programs, strong arts integration programs, supportive
instructional settings, outstanding community
connections, or other factors that make them valuable examples. These schools have agreed to open
their doors to visitors who wish to enhance and/or
affirm their arts education practices.
Schools that apply for this recognition
conduct a comprehensive self-assessment. Applications are evaluated by a committee
of arts education professionals. Site visits are conducted for schools with the strongest applications for the final selection process. Arts Achieve! Model
Schools are recognized for a three-year
period.
Arts Achieve! Moddel Schools are recognized annually at the FAAE Leadership
Summit. Networking sessions and set-aside meeting time are designated at the Summit for Arts Achieve! Model Schools administrators and teachers. Their participation in this event is strongly urged.
Recipients of the FAAE Arts Achieve! Award
may be nominated by Florida for
the John
F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts National Schools of Distinction in Arts Education Award.
APPLY FAAE is introducing an on-line AAMS application
for 2010. Arts Achieve! criteria have not changed.
The online application will streamline the process
of application and review. Schools will submit
materials electronically and provide links to
online resources and video. Of course, no improvement
comes without pain - we think we have thought
of everything, but there will certainly be questions.
