Featured Career: Mall Designer

A CAREER IN MALL DESIGN
Answers provided by professional architect, Brian Price.

How long have you been an architect?

For 20 years; graduated with my Master’s Degree in Architecture in 1988. Worked in
several architectural offices though through college.

Do you work on commercial buildings and malls, exclusively?

Yes. That said, we also do site planning and graphic design as part of our projects,
as well as providing project design & construction services.

Did you begin your architecture career by designing houses?

No. I started working directly for a firm that did commercial buildings. That said, I
have done a few personal homes as “side projects” in the evenings.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

Was looking at a career in engineering of some type. I actually started college in
the school of engineering but transferred into architecture after my sophomore year.
