Featured Career: Music Therapist

What is Music Therapy?

Music Therapy - sounds fun, but what is it? Music therapy is a way to use music
and musical activities to help people reach non-musical goals.

Here are some examples:

Some of the things music therapists may do is sing a child to sleep before he gets
a shot at a medical center, or use music beat to help someone learn to walk
correctly after a surgery; in a different situation music therapists may use songs to
help an elderly person remember a pleasant memory, or even use music activities
to learn new skills at school. These are just several examples of how music can be
used to help people achieve non-musical goals and wellness.
