100th Anniversary of Salvador Dali's BirthThe Exhibition
The eight Dalí works that were on exhibit at the Florida Governor's Mansion were on loan from the Salvador Dalí Museum, located in St. Petersburg, Florida. The Museum, which opened to the public in 1982, was the vision of Reynolds Morse and his wife, Eleanor, who were avid art collectors and dear friends of Salvador Dalí and his wife, Gala. For over forty years, they selected and purchased much of the artist’s work, resulting in the most comprehensive collection of original Dalí work in the world. Mrs. Bush, who was the Honorary Chair of the Salvador Dalí Centennial, became a champion of the Salvador Dalí Museum’s exhibitions and community outreach during its Centennial Year programs.
