Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, David Atwood’s background is in education, where he taught middle school math for 10 years, in which he had various roles, including mentor teaching, leading curriculum departments, working on State committees for the Kentucky Education Department, and creating new programs to monitor and analyze student growth. He transitioned from Education to Leadership in 2019 and started working for the Walt Disney World company in various management roles. In 2021, he started working at Florida Theatrical Association, where he is currently the Director of Education and Operations and oversees an education department that invests in multiple grants, scholarships, and awards that support Florida students and teachers in their theatrical education programs and development. He has an Undergraduate and Master’s degree in Middle School Education and is currently a Ph.D. student in Leadership at the University of the Cumberlands. He resides in Orlando with his husband and has an amazing 12-year-old son and two very sassy cats.
